Hey Al - We can all surf www.youTube.com for medical mishaps.

How about some more interesting Medical Cases; ones where you're offering an interesting medical treatment or observation that other Docs might want to hear about. I'm not-medical qualified, but I thought Cardio1's post on a Patient with pulmonary edema highly worthy of this Blog.

I agree. Al, you once posted an interesting medical story about a guy you treated who was an illegal alien. I do admire the fact you can figure out a way to gross-out even a doctor of medicine, but please, give us normal people a break. I already have insomnia. Don't you want me to ever sleep again?

The true stories of your own medical practice are far more interesting than any of this weird, nightmarish stuff, because I know that you are one far out medical man!

When I see images like these, I always put the same mental caption on them: "Please, just kill me." I think it is the futility of these images which both attract and horrify you, since you are a never-say-die kind of guy. You are not a quitter, and the image of a hopeless situation must be a challenge to your philosophy. In other words, knock it off or I'm putting you back on Prozac!

Maybe that one was a bit over the top... When I posted it I thought- "Dang, Nick is going to fall out of his chair and spill coffee all over himself, all the while saying- there's Dr. Borges, doing it again!!". Mi culpa, mi culpa, mi grande culpa.

It's like the cook and the Italian soup- I may have overdone it with the red peppers on this one.

I find it neat to see the extreme cases; kind of breaks the monotomy of everyday medical cases of anemias, UTI's, and a tumor here or there.

>>> We can all surf www.youTube.com for medical mishaps

Nick, we can also all surf to Medscape.com for the usual stuff (where I get my CME, BTW), but only here will you get everything, from the mundane to the "Howard Stern" cases.

OK- I hereby promise to behave (slightly, at least):

1) no more women cut into 2 midgets spoofs
2) no more wildly extreme "Please, just kill me." cases
3) no more 2 naked British blokes

Although the stats say that there are a lot of weird case lovers out there: the neat SLE picture group has gotten 10 views for the past 12 hours, while the deformed child got 49 views even though it got put in 10 minutes AFTER the SLE picture group. The "Rectal Toys" is at 99, rapidly catching up to the great "Broken Heart..." thread in 1/4 the time.

Although these numbers could mean that maybe Nick and Robert kept asking themselves "No- he didn't REALLY put that in there?", and kept going back to look over and over again...  ;^)

Quote Al Borges: "Dang, Nick is going to fall out of his chair and spill coffee all over himself, ..."

Al, it was English Breakfast Tea, not coffee that was spilled across my keyboard. We English do like a nice cup of tea.
