Tips for composing new Blog Posts

Just a few notes for anyone contributing to the EMR 101 Articles:

  1. Our objective is to build a collection of useful articles and advise for Doctors who are just starting to look for an EMR solution. These should be practical questions and issues that a Doctor should investigate when looking at investing in EMR technology -- with your perspective or recommended approach.
  2. With perhaps one or two exceptions EMR vendors shouldn't be posting here -- perhaps there might be a small temptation to recommend a particular approach that appears upon a specific vendor's Unique Selling Point list. What me? Cynical.
  3. Your Blog Subject Title is actually used within the hyperlink to your post. Just worth thinking about your title BEFORE hitting the Publish button. Once published your title is static and cannot be changed.
  4. If you're stuck with any part of the Blog Posting or editing just let me, Jason Murdoch, Barbara Duck or Robert Gleeman know.
  5. Ah, if you want to edit a post, look for the Edit button under a Blog Post. You can also use and edit Blog Tags. These showup on our right-hand border.
  6. Luke. Use the force. Corny, but Docs let's use the technology! If you're posting a technical term link it to [wikipedia:wikipedia] using the code shown below.
  7. If you spot a useful YouTube movie you can post that to a (forum or) Blog Post. Find out more about YouTube and Wikipedia here.
  8. ... and it goes without saying that if you reference a URL please place that as a Hyperlink using the (chain) link button. If you're URL is less than 50 characters why not paste it complete. If it's a long URL just hyperlink it under a "here" link. Please don't paste links to sites which require membership.
  9. Once we have a collection of posts I can provide a single page with links to each of the articles. It doesn't matter when the Blog Post / Articles was written it can still be linked and appear as fresh as if it was written yesterday.
  10. Haven't decided what to do with Blog Comments to our articles -- I can do none, moderated, unmoderated.

 Any questions?
