At this year’s American College of Cardiology (ACC) meeting recently held in Chicago, GE Healthcare debuted a cardiac CT machine that provides intelligent motion correction. The Discovery CT750 HD FREEdom Edition system, which is awaiting 510(k) clearance from the FDA, also offers enhanced coronary visualization and improved plaque assessment and perfusion calculation. NeuroLogica has received CE Mark approval for its BodyTom, a portable full body multi-slice CT scanner. The tomograph, on which we have reported several times before, is battery powered and can be transported to the patient from room to room, allowing it to be used in places like the clinic, ICU, OR and emergency department. Siemens had several of their newest technologies on display at the 2012 American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions expo in Chicago.
