My ears perked up earlier this week when the radio show Marketplace ran a piece entitled “ Megaupload Case Exposes Cloud Computing Risks .” I had read rumblings of the imminent shutdown of the file-sharing site, and sure enough, the Justice Department shut it down earlier this month for alleged...
I am sure the judge was interpreting the law as it was written so the next step is it sounds like is an “act of Congress” unless the Department of Justice has other alternatives. As a nation we would be fools to have this remain on the books as the last year since stem cell research was reinstated...

When it comes to healthcare news, Partners is no stranger. Recently in the news the Department of Justice opened an inquiry as to how they were able to substantiate larger compensation contracts compared to other hospitals in the Boston area. How Does Partners HealthCare Negotiate Those Higher...

Everybody is using algorithmic formulas today to help them do their job better with less wasted efforts and drug reps can benefit too from the same formulas of evaluation. Let’s face it today in any industry, being in sales is getting to be tough job as everyone wants to absolutely define the direction...

This is not a new topic by any means as it has been in the news quite a bit about how Partners gets paid at higher rates than some of the other hospitals in the Boston area. The link below is from last year, January 2009 for a little history. One area of difference when comparing Massachusetts...

From my prior post on this topic, the Department of Justice dismissed the Aetna case against Pfizer; however, Kaiser Permanente was able to document their education efforts and provide proof of their efforts and time spent with clinicians. The charges revolved around off label marketing of the...

Pfizer has already paid a settlement here on the marketing of Neurontin with a settlement in 2004 with the Department of Justice. According to the article, Aetna is still reviewing the response. I guess when you look here you see 2 different reactions to dealing with off label marketing...

I posted this last October in 2008 and little did I know how true it would really play out to be as time moved on, those 2 items right there are what seems to make the dollars and profits in healthcare today. The DOJ certainly has been helped with the efforts of whistle blowers and there’s money...
Words of wisdom and right to the heart of the matter. Below I have included a clip from the Wall Street Journal about President Bush signing a bill on protecting intelligent property, and what I found interesting is the mentioning of the fact that the coordinator for this was originally to be housed...
