There were quite a few healthcare organizations affected as well. This video from 60 Minutes brings us up current with what is happening today. They are going after and finding more money. Those that actually took out more money than they invested might even be liable, as the trustees...

I seems the future of CCHI now resides with David Blumenthal as HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has delegated much of Health IT, especially relative to electronic medical records. For a little recent history, the 2 links below have some updates on what is happening. What is Next on the Agenda ...

It may be a while before meaningful use gets its full authority and I do hope they included medical devices in the interpretation too. What devices and their reporting data is meaningful? CCHIT has the authority to certify according to the news today until the end of the year. BD The...

A couple bit of information include working at Massachusetts General Hospital, and substantial information technology involvement at Harvard, and it looks like the President shopped at the “Smart Store” with a physician who believes in electronic medical records and is in the know about the rest...

Yes you read that correctly and it’s starting to show more and more. When you watch the 2nd video, the SEC folks have no real answer. It comes back around to intelligence with technology that wasn’t used, but perhaps they didn’t understand the type of documentation provided by the whistle...

The fall out continues and sadly for the non profits, a center that was helping those with cancer. Also, the Shapiro Foundation will not be creating any new grants for the year 2009. The SEC, just like the FDA needs to have the talent and technology to be able to monitor and hopefully...

One thing for sure, who ever gets the job of the White House CTO is going to have one busy job getting everyone up to date. Approved Gmail accounts for some so they could communicate. Windows operating systems over 6 years old, well how old were the computers too? Granted stealth...

I have written quite a bit about the topic as well. I do agree we need to have certification that the software will perform as sold, no doubt and that’s like getting the UL approval for electrical devices in short, but the fees and money involved have been the big issue. Smaller EHR/EMR companies...

This is a great article and good comments from Dr. Bill Crounse at Microsoft. from ABC News. If you read this blog often enough, you will find several posts relating back to his blog, as his posts are informative and he works hard at keeping interested readers up to date , not only here in the...

Below is from a post from a couple days ago, so I don’t want to go through here and repeat myself, but bottom line is we need the folks with the “smarts” making decisions in this administration, those who have hands on experience with technology. We are all seeing the fall out now of an administration...
