I just ran across this and I think it is something I need to check out. I have quite a few Microsoft Tags posts on the blog and this is kind of need to have an encrypted gateway to protect purchases made with PayPal. The plan exists for a year. Again, I like the extra level of security...

I’m not kidding on the snake bait here as I am sure the snakes and mice would not have a problem as Tylenol products are used to kill the brown tree snakes in Guam that are taking over. Dead mice are packed up and loaded with Tylenol and dropped from helicopters and when the snakes show down they die...

This is a bit of a double whammy as the over the counter product was found to contain sibutramine, which is not a natural herbal product according to the FDA so doctors are asked to no longer prescribe Meridia and find another weight loss drug instead. Sibutramine is also the active ingredient...

It’s the same old story with counterfeits, whether it is in India or here in the US, they are everywhere and with the global economic structure we have today, counterfeits travel everywhere too, just like the real drugs. We see this ads on the internet all the time and unfortunately when someone...

The letter of announcement from Bill Weldon is shown below. We keep seeing many top executives from all areas of healthcare and government following this process. It’s complicated out there today and technology is running a muck on those who may not be up to date as the decision making processes...

This is one “huge” project and the targets and technologies change frequently, maybe hourly if we really had all the data to look at. Technology is out there throwing us a new left curve every day and when it available and simple, consumers want it now. No longer are we in the days to where...

I can say this was needed as things have progressed in the last couple of years since Google Health was introduced. We now see some consumer devices that can now connect and make it easier for one to get the data in place. Cardio Trainer and Fitbit were named as 2 new devices that connect...

You would have to living under a rock today not to notice the fire that keep popping up for the FDA as the world we live in is changing and coupled with years of neglect in the IT department, they have a lot of work and need a lot of help with other agencies as it’s not all self contained to one agency...

This looks like some of the areas I have been writing about in reference to recall matters and the safe shipping and documentation of drugs. The bill would also give the FDA authority to recall and not just send warning letters out asking for recall, they would be able to actually police the efforts...

Well this is another area where the use of bar coding Microsoft Tags would have come in handy. Certainly the retailers will do their part, but having a cell phone to scan and find would be marvelous and what if they miss some products and are still on the shelves? Depending on the retailer...

This is a bit of a “no brainer” as to why because the cell phone makes the information instantly available for better decision making processes and patient care. The use of Smart Phones only stands to grow not only with physicians but consumers as well and we see this in the news all the time...

The Medical Quack is somehow turning into a blog about bar coding, why, because the news is full of articles about recalls, fake drugs, stolen drugs, defective devices, you name it. We need the technology right now to be able to get the word out. Would you not like the availability to scan...
