    Funny, I was cleaning up today, and I found an article about radiation exposure for CT scans.

    New Patient of mine.

    Was getting yearly CT scans of Chest for lung CA surveillance.  

    for a fair time.

    He has pleural plaques on CXR.  but ..

    he has, get this, 5 family members who died of Lung CA - probably from asbestos and smoking.  All 5 smoked.

    My patient quit 20 years ago.

    I think he convinced his old doctor into the scanning because he's so anxious.

    Interesting how the anxiety may give him cancer through the CT scans.

    I said I wouldn't do the CT scanning and the respirologist reassured him this morning I think.
