Anybody got any details about the next version of DNS and how it's going to improve our lives? When might it be ready to go? Is it going to cost another $1000 dollars?

All beta testers have to sign an NDA and are barred from discussing any Nuance pre-released products. Nuance doesn't release any information about release dates until a few days at most before the product is released, for obvious reasons, so the best we can offer you is a little unqualified speculation:
Ver. 10 beta testing has not yet begun so we don't expect Ver. 10 to be released before the 4th quarter of this year. We suspect there will be a 64-bit option and we are relatively certain that the next version will have to take advantage of multi-core processors because it's hard enough to run Ver. 9.5 on current processors. 8 core processors are about a year away so we suspect the next version of NaturallySpeaking will be at least twice as fast as the current one. Each new version of NaturallySpeaking is typically 15% more accurate than the previous version but again, this is only speculation. We have been gradually collecting a list of new features and design changes that we would like to see implemented in Ver. 10 on the KnowBrainer Speech Recognition Forum and we welcome additional participation.
