You misunderstood my post. FreeDOM is not for physicians to get into the clearinghouse business. It is a free EMR and PM system for physicians and other healthcare providers. The company can afford to give away the software because all claims go through its clearinghouse (35 cents per claim). If physicians also use electronic EOB posting, statement print and mail services, and Code Correct then the company enjoys a profitable relationship. The doctor gets a bargain and the company makes money. The loser is the legacy clearinghouse.
I haven't heard much about NueMD, but when going into a Practice Management or EMR software it seems best to go with a top company that will give you longevity. Have you heard of Intergy by Sage? Very good, can be a bit expensive, but there are ways where the software is at no cost to you
Intergy and Sage have that whole Medical Manager/WebMD/Emdeon thing to overcome.
Actually, I haven't heard any rave reviews about Intergy. I've never used it but I was researching it when I was courting a prospect who had it.
I have no clue as to the cost of Intergy, but we all know MedMan was one of the most expensive solutions out there. I'm sure Intergy is probably similarly priced. I can't fathom how it could be available at no cost. Are you at liberty to elaborate?

Sure, D'Souza & Assoc, www.dsouzainc.com, provides billing, hosting, and IT solutions for clients. Once you become their billing client they purchase Intergy for the doctor's office. The only bill that the clients receive is for their billing services not the software, its part of the package. It gives providers a way to have a great software without shelling out all the money for it.

That is the way we operate to. If a client utilizes our billing services we do not charge for our Software either. The only difference however, is that we also are the Software company as well. We don't have to go to an outside company and purchase the software for the client because we are the Software vendor too.

Hello Karen,
I do agree with FPDoctor prices stated. However if you know or have other sources that can provide competitive price please do let us know. Perhaps with better pricing structure I may purpose to my physicians.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
teemor
Kareo is a great product. I've been using it now for a year and I have not experience any problems with them getting back to me once I've open a ticket. I've worked on Nextgen, Mysis, Medical Manager & Medisoft and can tell you none of these products compare to the ease of use of Kareo. I believe some of the people that have had problems with them not getting back to them is because they did not buy the support, so like with any company if you don't buy support you don't get support. The number one thing I love is that everything is integrated into one solution, Electronic Remits, Clearing House Reports, Patient Statements are all at your finger tips without having to log into Multiple applications which makes it easy to track the entire billing/collections process.
Now with this new font size I'm even more impressed with Kareo..
