Is it safe to use unsecured or public wifi to use remote desktop back to my office?

If not what would be the solution aside from a USB data card?

Graham,

Nice article. I particularly like the account lockout X __ minutes after so many failed login attempts.  Looking at our server logs, it sure helps. The hackers are off to greener pastures after the lockout.  Why Microsoft did not turn this on by default, I do not understand.
