I just recieved a phone call from a recruiter today that is hiring sales reps for Alteer. The pitch sounded great, but I'm obviously concerned now after researching the company and reading the posts on this site.
Obviously, the company is definitely puting some money back into sales, otherwise I wouldn't of recieved a call - the recruiter also told me that they will have a more robust support team as well.
Do you think if they can turns things around internally they can turn their reputation and sales around?

I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but seriously, if it were me, I think reviewing this entire topic might help you come up with your answer.

No sarcasm taken...I understand that Alteer has had some major challenges in the past and even the present, and it's hard to imagine someone wanting to work there, but is it possible for them to turn things around with the right people in management? They are hiring a ton of people and things sound positive.
Their previous growth demonstrates that they obviously have a great product, but is their reputation too destroyed to bounce back?
Thanks for any insight.

Rebuilt the clinic to where physicians in 2003 were in 80th percentile of physician income for their specialties. Installed Alteer December 1 and I was fired April 15th. Billing system and support from Alteer caused a major interuption in accounts receivables. As of today Alteer still has several issues to fix.

I am purchasing three clinics that need a billing system and eventually EMR. I have chosen A4. Didn't like being fired, so I decided to purchase the clinics. How is A4 working for people? I have seen it in clinics and they are successful.

My clients with A4 had worse experiences than anything written regarding Alteer. My clients with Alteer communicated consistently with Alteer and experienced no problems with conversion and are happy campers, especially now with the auto-remit upgrade next week. My cients are in the mid-atlantic region.

PM Consultant,

How many current clients do you have with Alteer? And as far as their conversation goes, who do they talk to? There is no one still in the support department besides Kim and Michael (Phone answerer and 1 remaining tech)? The rest are gone.

I think your information regarding Alteer is inaccurate. Version updates continue along with prompt and thorough support. With any vendor, I review client support logs for time from report to response and resolve. Alteer is on par with others and in some ways with a less cookie cutter approach.
I do not direct clients to any particular vendor because client business requirements vary. My collaboration with a client is to define its unique business requirements for an information management system in order to make an informed investment.

PM Consultant,

I'm not sure what exactly your little ditty about what you do has to do with this thread. You say you do not direct clients to a particular vendor. Is that relevent here?

So would you recommend Alteer to a client if you thought it fit their needs right now?

I'm happy to hear that SOMOENE is getting good support from them, because it isn't any of the 15 or so Alteer groups that I've talked to in the last few months.

Just my 2 cents.

Since you are a vendor of software solutions, I better understand your remarks now. The report-response-resolve window with Alteer is 48-72 hours max reported to me by a client this morning. If there are 15 individual practices out there paying their monthly support fees and not receiving support then there is a practice management problem more than an Alteer problem.

Really not a software solutions vendor. I do EMR/PM consulting, and have no affiliations with any vendor. You obviously have your head in the sand regarding the current issues that Alteer has, or you have not read this entire thread, one of the two. I'm amazed that you appear to work with a number of groups that have Alteer, and they have had wonderful experiences. I've talked to more people around the country re: Alteer than I care to recount, and you're the first happy one. ;)

PM Consultant, what is your relationship with Alteer? On this board it is expected that those who represent vendors declare their affiliations.

Altter in trouble? It is a news to me. We have been using Alteer since 2001 and has not had any problem with the support as recetnly as this week. I do wish, however, Alteer comes up with more extensive and frequent updates.

Alteer is supposedly having a useer's meeting in October. If the company is folding or struggling, I am not sure calling a meeting is a likely step to take.

Just as a side not for you all we have 2 facilities running Alteer, I currently have 9 tickets open with them, and have not made any progress on getting any of them resolved. From report creation, stability of Alteer, Integration to an hl7 system, changing the ip scheme for one of our facilities, and few other problems. It is very easy to open up a trouble ticket, but to get an update or answer as to what is going on is near impossible. If anyone else is having problems like these I would love to hear about them. Please feel free to e-mail or call me anytime.

There is an update on reports this week I believe at least according to a client's reimbursement manager report yesterday.
