I am starting a solo practice after being an "employed" physician for the past 14 years. I want to start out with a good practice management software and add an EMR package later. I want an ASP model that is aggressively priced. Does anyone have any experience with Nuemd? It looks like it would interface well with medinotes and several other EMRs and touts "robust reporting " capabilities.

NueMD is a great product for the < 7 MD practice. I was involved several years ago with the development of the sales team and have since seen many of the PPMS' available in the both the client-server and ASP models.

I believe NueMD is a value buy in today's market.

Good luck - Josh Rubel

Another ASP to check out is KAREO  http://www.kareo.com/

I don't use them but heard that people like them.

Very inexpensive !  See website.

Here is another EMRupdate thread on NuMed

I personally called the company and got pricing.

If AthenaHealth is in your state, you should check them out too.

My EMR is: Synapse It is what we know already that often prevents us from learning.  Pioneers are the ones with the arrows in their backs.

SOAP note looks cumbersome.

Probably needs its own thread to discuss its EMR.

The topic here is using it for PM.

Hey Guys I hate to break the news but NueMD is a stand alone Practice Management system.  Where did you get the idea it was an EMR? It can be integrated with several EMRs like Sevocity, DigiChart, mdTeknix, and many more. Stick out tongue

Karen, the screenshots above would suggest you are mistaken.

They themselves say that they offer an emr, in the NeuMD EMR website:

http://www.nuemd.com/medical_software/electronic_medical_record_emr.html

It seems that their EMR is still in development. Quote from their website:

--------------begin-----------------

NueMD® offers two medical EMR software options for your practice:

  1. The NueMD® EMR

The NueMD electronic medical record software is a solution for physicians who are looking for basic EMR capabilities. Currently in Phase 1 development, the NueMD EMR offers the following features:

    • Clinical notes (point and click templates, voice recognition, free text)
    • Customizable template builder
    • Integrated billing
    • Ability to order labs and X-rays, and track and run reports on your dispensary inventory
    • Prescription writing feature (faxes directly to the pharmacy)
    • Ability to attach documents, images, X-rays, EKGs, or other files in digital format that are associated with a patient's visit
    • User audit trail

If you are interested in participating in NueMD's EMR Introductory Program, click here to be contacted by a product specialist.

  2. Partnerships with Specialty-Specific EMR Vendors

If you are looking for a more comprehensive solution, NueMD has several partnerships with specialty-specific EMR providers. Click here to view a complete list of our EMR Interface Partners.

HI -

I stand corrected! I didn't know they had an EMR!  I knew they had several EMR partners they interfaced with.

Thanks boys for the correction!Zip it!
