This is a good pilot program but the real danger here is: “Each vendor will be responsible for marketing its program to consumers, and each has adopted its own privacy protections.” Once more the consumer will be subjected to additional marketing and thrown a bone to figure out which choice they feel...

There’s probably no bigger fan of PHRs than yours truly here, but where’s the awareness and out reach here, it doesn’t exist. The technology is out there, but what good is it if nobody uses it or realizes the value. Consumers, much less doctors and clinical staff all over have not a clue...

Well so much for certification, it sounds like CMS doesn’t care whether or not PHRs get certified (grin). It is almost an impossible task as well with all the areas of integration to cover, so certification could theoretically be done in perhaps just part of the program I think. So where...
This actually a pretty good start and I have had my own campaign of sorts going on with getting the FDA up to speed, and they are definitely having to play catch up, as are some other government agencies. In prior posts I had written that some clinical studies were still being written in long hand...
